2006-03-06: Escape Phrase 16
Cooking is fun
They're just making a tomato and onion and red wine sort of sauce. Nothing fancy. Nicely appointed cabin though, eh?
This comic is in the storyline:
- Escape Phrase
This was intended to be a 24-hour comic but my hand hurt too much twelve pages in. And then it turned into a crazy experimental study of the interaction between form and content in the comics medium.
Text transcript
[[Jimothy is chopping onions while Tsamantha tends to a pot of tomatoes and spices.]] Jimothy: Where did YOU go? Was it like falling asleep? Were you POSSESSED? Tsamantha: No, it was... it was like when you're doing something interesting and time stops passing inside you. So, when it stopped, yeah, like waking up, but it wasn't... did you chop the onions? Hand them over. It wasn't bad. It was familiar. [[Tsamantha adds the onions to the sauce.]] Jimothy: I bet that's part of why you're not as scared of it as I am. Of saying it again. [[Tsamantha grinds some black pepper into the sauce.]] Tsamantha: Maybe. Tsamantha: Yeah, you're probably right. I SHOULD be scared. The cops totally knew about it, or suspected SOMETHING about me. <<CRKK CRK>> [[Jimothy puts some spaghetti in a pot of boiling water.]] Jimothy: Did you... did you struggle? Tsamantha: Not at first. Tsamantha: Then I saw where they were taking me. Even if it had been just to see, to look at my mom again, it was creepy as hell.
