2007-08-15: Metronome (Poetastic)
bricks
It is fun to draw bricks.
This comic is in the following storylines:
- Variations
A long-running series, maybe the crux of the site. Reader submits a suggestion, and I draw three comics based on that suggestion. Originally all three had to start the same, but it evolved. - Summer of Keith
Good old Keith! I used his suggestions, and only his suggestions, for comics all summer long. It was a pretty nice summer.
This comic includes the contribution:
- Keith Prestwich suggested: Dr. Quickly invents a metronome that beats in reverse
Text transcript
Dr Quickly: I have invented a metronome that beats in reverse! Rabid: What good is that? It sounds kind of awful... <<kot kit kot kit kot kit>> Dr Quickly: I don't see why it has to do anything fancy. Can't it just EXIST?! Rabid: I didn't mean to hurt your feelings!! [[At a grave marked: RIP DOCTOR GERMAN QUICKLY LAID LOW BY HURT FEELINGS]] Rabid: I didn't mean to hurt his feelings!! Rabish: That's unfortunate. Rabid: Is that my guilt springing a phantom into my mind or do I truly hear the terrible trot of the Doctor's ostensibly still heart everywhere I go?! <<kot kit kot kit kot>> Rabid: Ah-ha! Behind this bricked up wall was a grandfather clock whose escapement is one of Dr Quickly's metronomes! But how did it get here?! <<kit kot kit kot>> Terrible Phantom of Dr Quickly: HOW INDEED!!
