2006-03-29: Escape Phrase 26
Exposition
Warning! Massive expository dump approaching in next comic! Additional warning! It doesn't explain anything!
This comic is in the storyline:
- Escape Phrase
This was intended to be a 24-hour comic but my hand hurt too much twelve pages in. And then it turned into a crazy experimental study of the interaction between form and content in the comics medium.
Text transcript
[[Jimothy and Tsamantha are being led down a strange hallway by Dr Quickly. A large poster has the escape phrase on it: "NO TRIFLING SIX EVENT MOUSE WILL BRING US TOGETHER". A smaller poster says "SAFETY" lies in the direction they are going and "DANGER" lies whence they came.]] Tsamantha: Oh, Jim, look... Jimothy: Hey! Oh, that's weird. What... Jimothy: Professor, what does it MEAN? Dr Quickly: Oh, it's just a statistically unlikely bunch of words I found at the bottom of a junk email. Dr Quickly: I thought it had a nice ring to it: surreal, sinister, portentous. Dr Quickly: Pretentious, too, I guess. Anyway, that's why we used it. Tsamantha: (Jim, he's really creepy...) Jimothy: (He'll explain things soon, I'm hoping.)
