Adventure door
At some point in my life, I want to live in a house with a garden that I can get lost in.
The best places have doors you haven't noticed before. Or rope bridges you haven't gone across yet. Sort of a cross between the Hemulen's silent amusement park ("All the park was rustling and seething with a secret and happy life. He could hear a splash, a giggle, faint thuds and thumps, padding feet everywhere.") and the Jardin des Enfants des Halles, which I only went to once but...
But I can't stop thinking about corners I haven't looked around yet. Years ago I saw a beautiful view of the city, from a school playground only a few blocks from where I live, but I haven't been able to find the school again...
This comic is in the storyline:
- Variations
A long-running series, maybe the crux of the site. Reader submits a suggestion, and I draw three comics based on that suggestion. Originally all three had to start the same, but it evolved.
This comic includes the contribution:
- xiane suggested: Rabid peers into his post office box and yells, "IS ANYBODY IN THERE?!"
Text transcript
Rabid: Hello? Is anyone in there? <<slam!>> Rabid: A door? Rabid: How is it I never noticed this before? Rabid: I must have been exploring a long time. Rabot: You're lucky I found you! It's not safe for civilians to enter the postal system.
