2005-10-18: Treebot
That was a lot of work.
Thank goodness I have some good reference material for drawing trees. And I don't mean horticultural manuals, either, since I spent an entire day trying to draw that damn tree in a realistic style... what a crazy thing to do! No, I mean Dr Seuss books.
If you're wondering, Rabot's head flew off because he got too close to the fire and his head-joint heated up very quickly.
Today I picked up the latest (6th) volume of the Fantagraphics "Krazy Kat" reprints. It begins the colour run. After much contemplation, I agree with their choice to use the more subdued colours of the New York Journal (as opposed to th'brighter Chicago American ones which are a little garish now that I can compare). Oh, a glorious thing. It is bound to have great effect on me... I WISH.
This comic is in the storyline:
- Old Comics
The site started with "cleaned up" comics from my old sketchbooks, which go back almost fifteen years. Eventually I ran out and had to come up with new things! That was a terrifying moment.
