2007-04-18: Science Failed (Reader Submission)
bah humbug
No time, NO TIME!!! So here is a comic that Studio Assistant Zusty sent me, based on last week's theme.
It raises some interesting points, I think: in some sense, all humour is reference-based if it's not preschool-level random humour. A joke isn't funny if you don't understand what it's about! But there's a difference between pop culture reference and culture reference; this comic happens to use both quite successfully.
This comic is in the storyline:
- Variations
A long-running series, maybe the crux of the site. Reader submits a suggestion, and I draw three comics based on that suggestion. Originally all three had to start the same, but it evolved.
This comic is tagged:
This comic includes the contributions:
- nemryn suggested: Dr Quickly is plummeting through the air, shouting 'Science, why have you failed me?!'
- Zusty guest comicked: an RGB joke about four-colour printing.
Text transcript
Dr Quickly: Science, why have you failed me?! Dr Quickly: My new printing press would have revolutionized the world! Dr Quickly: ... to think I'll never play Myst again...
