There are so many funny things going on in this comic I have to point some out so you get a sense of what sort of comic genius I am.
Dr Quickly looks funny with a beard. Somehow he slept through the planet's disassembly and reassembly into a ringworld. In five hundred years, only a little water evaporated (or maybe rainfall?!). His beard is probably really really long, I should have drawn a panel demonstrating this. His eyes went pale with age. He's so wrinkly!! There are only a couple things on his shelves. He is using slang, but is not comfortable with it. And so forth.

Dr Quickly: My EXPERIMENT was a RESOUNDING SUCCESS!! Dr Quickly: ... MAYBE!! Dr Quickly: It may look like an ordinary glass of water -- but in FIVE HUNDRED YEARS we shall see! WE SHALL SEE!! Dr Quickly: ffff <<DING DING DING>> Dr Quickly: Eh? An alarm... Oh! The EXPERIMENT!! Dr Quickly: PFAUGH! The water is "WICKED" STALE!! Dr Quickly: THE EXPERIMENT WAS A SUCCESS!!
