2006-09-13: Escape Phrase 94
impending changes
I am making an insightful observation.
This comic is in the storyline:
- Escape Phrase
This was intended to be a 24-hour comic but my hand hurt too much twelve pages in. And then it turned into a crazy experimental study of the interaction between form and content in the comics medium.
Text transcript
[[Rabid is reading Volume 8 of Escape Phrase.]] Dr Quickly: So what do you think? Rabid: Well, it's a neat twist... Rabid: But having the last few dozen pages blank instead of resolving anything is kind of a cop-out. Dr Quickly: ?! Dr Quickly: I did no such thing! Let me see that. <<GRAB GRAB>> Dr Quickly: WHAT the... ?! [[The page we see over his shoulder reads "The Denoument", and a comic panel is falling apart. A speech bubble says "It's working... we're brekaing free", the last few words falling out of the page, out of the book, and out of the panel Dr Quickly himself is in.]]
