2006-08-14: Escape Phrase 81
Ideas I Have
I can't believe I'm already at this point in the story; I've had the idea for this page since I started this project as a (failed) 24 hour comic months ago.
I can't believe I'm only at this point in the story; I never intended this to be more than about 48 pages long.
I wonder what I'm going to do once this is over... which is soon.
This comic is in the storyline:
- Escape Phrase
This was intended to be a 24-hour comic but my hand hurt too much twelve pages in. And then it turned into a crazy experimental study of the interaction between form and content in the comics medium.
Text transcript
Tsamantha: Is this really going to work? Jimothy: I HOPE so... Jimothy: ... if this works like it should, any minute now he'll be gone for good. Tsamantha: But look - he's still right there! Jimothy: See? There he goes! Tsamantha: Wow... [[In the middle of the page is another comic.]] Narrator: Meanwhile, in an ALTERNATE DIMENSION... L: NO! I'm "out of the picture"... L: I didn't KNOW he could DO THAT... L: TRAPPED in the comic book equivalent of a DIGRESSIONARRY SIDEBAR COMMENTARY. L: DOOMED for ALL TIME to exist as a mere FOOTNOTE! L: At least it's CATERED.
